          The Impromptu Trio has been performing together for the last two years across most of Massachusetts. The unique trio arrangement of Dorian Mohar (trumpet), Liz Horwitz (Bass), and Andrew Bayardi (Guitar) brings the standards to an intimate setting while still creating the great excitement of a jazz band.

 

 

          Dorian Mohar has lived and loved his musical experiences from a very early age. With two BM degrees from Rowan University (in Music Education and in K-6 education), a masters degree in Trumpet Performance from Miami University of Ohio, and five years experience with Carnival Cruise lines working as a Music Director and a lead/solo trumpet performer, that love for music has never stopped. Over the last 2 years Dorian moved to Acton, MA area to begin his teaching career, while maintaining his active trumpet performance lifestyle.

          Liz Horwitz grew up in Tokyo, Japan.  She started on the piano in first grade and added the flute in 4th grade and the double bass only 10 years ago.  she graduated as a music major from Colby College.  Currently, Liz is an active member of several musical groups, including Impromptu Trio, The Mood Swings Orchestra, Soft Touch Dance Band and several community orchestras, including The Boston Civic Symphony and Brookline Symphony.

          Andrew Bayardi is an experienced and versatile guitar instructor who is well versed in various music genres.  Born and raised in West Virginia, Andrew grew up listening to Country and Rock n' Roll music.  As he was developing his love and skills for the guitar at a young age, he also studied classical and jazz music along the way.  After earning his Bachelor of Music Degree in Guitar Performance from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, he has been an active educator and performer in the recent years.  He is currently the lead guitarist in an indie rock band, "The Honors", that appears in festivals and venues throughout the Northeast.  It is his belief that the main goal for learning an instrument is to have fun and to explore one's own path to making music.  With his upbeat personality and positive attitude, Andrew always how to make learning and music fun for his students.
